Mini Road Trips and a Bit of Advice

For the love of all that you hold dear, call your consulate and double check what paperwork you need before you send it off in a tidy little envelope. We didn't. We sent what our recruiter asked us to and ignored the little line at the bottom asking us to call the consulate to confirm this information because it changes from time to time.

It changed. We were missing several documents and got an email from the consulate saying as much. They asked us to bring them in as soon as possible. The only way to meet our deadline was to drop of the paperwork and then go and pick it up when it's done. It's a 10 hour drive round trip for us.
Lesson learned.

The good news is that we have our plane tickets now. We depart on February 17th at 6 a.m. and arrive in Seoul on February 18th at 4:30. That's a day and a half of flying! I'm looking for a nice scarf pattern that I can make Lance while we're on the plane since just about everything else we have for entertainment will probably run out of battery power before we arrive.

So we're in the midsts of packing our life into boxes and giving three quarters of it away to friends, family and the local goodwill. It's exhausting and exciting and we can't wait to start this new adventure.
